Dr Dre shot in 3D at Milk Studios LA

Lenticular Portrait of Dr Dre
January 29, 2025

Some shoots feel different from the start. Walking into Milk Studios in Los Angeles, setting up the cameras, adjusting the lighting-there was a sense that this was going to be something special. Dr. Dre was about to be captured in a way few have been before.

Lenticular photography isn't just about taking a picture-it's about depth, movement, a sense of presence. Shooting in 3D means working with multiple angles, carefully controlling light and perspective to create something that feels alive.
Dre was dialed in from the beginning. He has an eye for detail, the same way he does in music. He knew what worked, what didn't, and the session moved smoothly. There wasn't a lot of unnecessary talk-just focus, precision, and getting the shot right.

Back in the studio, I layered the images together, building the final lenticular piece. The result is a portrait that shifts as you move, giving Dre a sense of depth and presence that goes beyond a flat image.
It was a unique project, pushing the boundaries of photography and perception, and a privilege to work with someone whose impact is as deep as the image itself.
