In December, I opened Terra Incantata at the historic Casa Robegan in Treviso, Italy. This exhibition represents the culmination of eight months of focused work, exploration, and development. Translating to Enchanted Land, the show is an invitation to explore the boundaries of perception through a collection of my latest works.
The Vision Behind Terra Incantata
The name Terra Incantata reflects my fascination with the unseen-the interplay between the tangible and the elusive. With this exhibition, my goal was to create an experience that shifts the viewer's perspective, encouraging them to question what they see and feel. Lenticular photography, a medium I've worked with for years, plays a central role in this exploration, offering dynamic, multidimensional experiences that change with the viewer's position.
Eight Months of Artistic Exploration
Creating Terra Incantata was a methodical and, at times, demanding process. For eight months, I immersed myself in the studio, pushing the limits of lenticular photography and experimenting with new sculptural techniques. Each piece was designed to interact with light, form, and motion in ways that engage the senses and challenge perception. These works represent a synthesis of technical innovation and artistic vision.
Casa Robegan: A Historic Venue for Contemporary Art
Casa Robegan's rich historical context provided a striking backdrop for the exhibition. The juxtaposition of my contemporary art within a centuries-old building created a unique dialogue between the past and the present. I carefully considered how each work would integrate with the space, allowing the architecture to enhance the viewer's experience.
Collaboration and Refinement
While the creative process was deeply personal, it was also a collaborative effort. I worked closely with a team of professionals to refine and execute my vision. Their collective expertise ensured that the technical and logistical challenges of such an ambitious project were met with precision and care.
The Intersection of Perception and Form
At its core, Terra Incantata is an exploration of ambiguity. The exhibition invites viewers to engage with art that shifts and transforms, revealing new dimensions with each interaction. By challenging perceptions, I hope to encourage a deeper connection to the unseen aspects of reality.
Reflections and What's Next
For me, Terra Incantata marks a significant chapter in my artistic journey. This exhibition pushed me to explore new territories, both technically and conceptually. It's been a challenging but incredibly rewarding process. Looking ahead, I plan to continue expanding on the themes and techniques I've developed through this work.
